My passion for beautiful clothes was born out of my own belief that any woman, of any age or size, can look amazing in the right outfit with beauty, style and sophistication.
I discovered my love of clothing design at a young age. As a little girl I clamoured to follow in my Father’s footsteps, watching him for hours in his work room as he sewed and created beautiful garments for his customers and my family.
Even then I could appreciate the impact that quality clothes had on those who wore them, starting with the smile and confidence as they tried them on for the first time. As I grew older I dared to steal the off cuts of material from my Father’s workshop and create designs of my own, starting with my dolls of course!
It wasn’t long before my Father saw my collection, and so at 15 years of age I had my first sewing machine lesson, helping him out in the workshop where I could from that day onwards.
At 16 years old I was lucky to attend a dedicated design school where I would refine my skills for three years, exploring the latest trends in fashion and tailoring to eventually create my own unique style.
Word spread throughout my hometown and I quickly found myself making all kinds of clothes for friends, family and complete strangers, but it was really one particular order that changed everything for me.
A friend came to see me and asked me to create her dream wedding dress. I was shocked. I had goosebumps. That’s the piece of clothing you can’t stuff up, after all.
The big day arrived and all eyes were on that gown. It was my biggest challenge to date, and I didn’t want to disappoint my friend. Thankfully, the world didn’t end, and I was now a wedding dress maker.
Now with over 25 years experience I can alter any dress, or tailor one from scratch to see you looking your absolute best. If there’s anything my story has taught me, it’s that each story is different and clothing design should appreciate that.
What we wear is what represents us. The occasion, the body type, the personality…I treat every person individually, and that has seen clients come back again and again thanks to the confidence, the happiness that a completely tailored product has given them.
